Bengal beauty Rimmi Sen biography



Rimi Sen (or Rimmi Sen) is a beautiful Indian film actress and model.

Rimi Sen is born 21st September 1981 in Culcutta (now Kolkata). Her real name is "Shoumitra Sen", her only dream was to become an actress and the same made her come to Mumbai to try out her luck.


Rimi completed her schooling from Bidya Bharati Girls' High School in the year 1998. Rimi Sen moved to Mumbai to become a film actress. She was first noticed when she auditioned for a Coca-Cola advertisement, impressing Priyadarshan, the director of the Ad. Priyadarshan cast her in his hit film “Humgama” where her role was noticeable and appreciated.


She then played Amitabh Bachchan's and Hema Malini's grand daughter in the hit film Baghban. Her next big hit was the Yashraj produced Dhoom. Rimi became popular with her appearance in this movie “Dhoom” where she played the role of a sexy housewife. She did expose skin in the song “Sikdhum Sikdhum” and also led to her popularity.


In 2007 she appeared in Johnny Gaddaar alongside newcomer actor Neil Nitin Mukesh. She appeared in "De Taali" in 2008. Her last release was Sankat City in 2009.


Rimi Sen has in addition to Bollywood films, appeared in Telugu film "Andari vaadu!" opposite Soth Mega Star Chiranjeevi.


Rimi is now going by the screen name Rimmi. She explains the name can change as a career move: there are many other Sens working in Bollywood right now, and a single name may help her stand out from the crowd and stay apart from others.
